The Wood Brothers (approx. 8:30 pm)
After pursuing separate musical careers for some 15 years, Chris (of Medeski Martin & Wood) and Oliver Wood performed together at a show in North Carolina: Oliver sat in with MM&W following King Johnson’s opening set. "I realized we should be playing music together," Chris recalled. Soon after, the pair recorded a batch of Oliver’s songs, channeling the shared musical heroes of their youth while seizing on their own individual strengths — Oliver’s songwriting and Chris’s forward-thinking musicianship.
Small Time Napoleon began as the coalition of Dan Hardin and Jeff Thomas. Accomplished musicians in their own right, they’ve combined their affection for harmony, curiosity of rhythm, and fascination with the tunes of the past to create a unique musical experience. Adding to the sound is Ryan Fowler on drums and Dave Neill on bass. Both have a constantly expanding and increasingly impressive voice in their respective instruments and are a great asset to the band.
