The Kentucky Center Chamber Players announced a new season today. A set of four concerts will include chamber mainstays like Mozart's "Kegelstatt" and Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time, perfect for the core ensemble of clarinet, violin, cello and piano. Other works include the Piano Quintet Op. 82 of Dvorak, and Faure's Piano Quartet in C Minor, Op. 15, and lesser-known gems from Joan Tower's Rainwaves to a suite for Oboe, Clarinet and Viola by the oft-choral-typecast Randall Thompson. Two of the concerts will take place at the University of Louisville, one at Indiana University Southeast, and one at Locust Grove Museum. Not too long ago, the ensemble worked with New Dynamic Records on "Four of the Floor," an album consisting of all new(ish) works.
