Gospel, soul, and R&B infused artist Liz Vice is from Portland, Oregon. With a love of storytelling, she has found herself going from working behind the scenes in the film and video world to behind the mic. “The connection between gospel music and 1960s soul is reaffirmed on “There’s a Light,” the debut album by the Portland, Ore., singer Liz Vice. It’s a set of devout songs in vintage, tambourine-shaking soul style.” – Jon Pareles, The New York Times
Nashville native Rayland Baxter opens the show. “Baxter has a particular grasp for how even the most background of beats shape a song, and his work has the unique power of sounding unusual and familiar all at once.” —Rolling Stone Country
