Louisville Public Media (LPM) just completed the most successful Fall Membership Drive to date. Nearly 4,000 renewing members and 1,000 new members raised $516,733. The average gift was $123.39. Both totals surpassed the 2010 autumn drive which generated $503,900 and had an average gift of $95.27. LPM operates the city’s three public radio stations.
This year’s campaign also saw a marked increase in the number of sustained donations, a method of giving that automatically renews membership each year and makes monthly deductions from a bank or credit card account. Sustainers allow LPM to save time and valuable resources by doing away with direct mail efforts to renew their annual memberships. Also, their commitment ensures a guaranteed amount of money in the bank each year.
“We are truly grateful to our community for their warm generosity and support,” said Donovan Reynolds, president of Louisville Public Media. “More than 150,000 listen to LPM each week. Over 11,000 individuals help to fund it. In this drive, 41 businesses and upwards of 250 volunteers gave their time and goods to the effort. It’s an extraordinary gift. This service could not exist without their commitment.”
Louisville Public Media’s three nonprofit public radio stations provide 504 hours per week of trusted local, national and international news, insightful features, and inspiring arts and cultural programming.
