Fund for the Arts Hires Abby Shue as New Director of Corporate Relations

The Fund for the Arts has named Abby Shue its new director of corporate relations, a position that will focus on expanding and enriching Fund’s corporate partnerships throughout the region.

Corporate donations make up 31 percent of the Fund’s annual budget. Shue said the Fund hopes to redefine traditional corporate partnerships and engage the business community in a greater conversation about improving quality of place.

“I think the Fund for the Arts is, in a way, the backbone of the arts community; we are a connector organization and so, we are kind of the go-to place to connect corporations with a lot of different things that are happening in the arts communities in a lot of different ways,” Shue said.

Shue moved to Louisville in 2009 after graduating from Butler University in Indianapolis. Having spent the majority of her life as a ballet dancer, she began her career in arts administration in a community with such a vital arts scene. As vice president of the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, she oversaw board relations, government relations, strategic planning and management of the Center’s contemporary art collection.

“It is a really exciting opportunity to partner with the business community to bring their support behind the arts, and all that that really can do for the community in terms of, not only in just arts experiences, but in talent attraction and retention and employee engagement, as well as quality of life in the region,” Shue said.
