The Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals men's basketball teams square off Saturday in the annual Battle of the Bluegrass.
Both teams are undefeated. Some analysts say the fourth-ranked Cardinals are the only opponent standing in the way of an undefeated regular season for the top-ranked Wildcats.
U of L coach Rick Pitino said UK is using its size and deep bench to play great defensive basketball.
"Everybody thinks you beat Kentucky with three-point shooting," Pitino said. "That's a factor, in any game you want to shoot the three. But they win because they control the backboard, and they're an awesome defensive team."
He said the Wildcats are one of the best teams he's seen in recent years.
"I'm very impressed with how humble they are that they would dedicate themselves to being team and not worry about minutes," Pitino said. "They're just playing great basketball, and that's a tribute to their coaching staff, that's a tribute to their players. There's no ego there, they're just playing basketball.
Louisville will have its best player back in the lineup. Montrezl Harrell
returns to action after serving a one-game suspension for a flagrant foul last week against Western Kentucky.
Tipoff is at 2 p.m at the KFC Yum Center.
