Clark County's Chief Deputy Sheriff Dies

The deputy leading the Clark County Sheriff's Office has died at age 57.The News and Tribune reports that Chief Deputy John Kahaferhad been hospitalized since last week,when he was found unresponsive at his home. Lt. Colonel Brian Meyer has been overseeing the sheriff's office  in Kahafer’s absence.Kahafer had led the Southern Indiana sheriff’s office since the end of July, when Sheriff Danny Rodden  went on administrative leave following his federal indictment. Rodden is accused of lying to the FBI about his alleged involvement with a prostitute.The cause of Kahafer’s death has not been publicly released.
