Jefferson County Attorney Mike O'Connell has indefinitely suspended his official and campaign activities following the death of his son, Matt.Matthew O'Connell was found dead Monday on the 1800 block of Payne Street in the Clifton neighborhood, according to a Louisville Metro Police spokesman. LMPD has launched a death investigation and are not approaching it as a homicide.A spokeswoman for Mike O'Connell said in a statement that he'd have no further comment.Mike O'Connell is currently seeking re-election. His opponent in the May 20 Democratic primary is Karen Faulkner.
