Jefferson County Public Schools, Others Closed Monday Because of Winter Weather Again

Several Louisville-area school systems, including Jefferson County Public Schools, are closed Monday as a winter storm continues to move through the region.The National Weather Service forecasts that the winter storm that began Sunday will leave four to seven inches of snow in Louisville and surround areas before it ends late Monday morning.Just after 5 a.m., the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet cautioned that state highways were mostly covered in Louisville and surrounding areas. The cabinet said motorists should be mindful that lane markings may be covered up by the snow. State highway crews are salting, and Louisville Metro road crews began their third round early Monday morning.Closed school districts include:

Also, University of Louisville offices are closed and classes that begin before 3 p.m. are canceled—but classes that begin after 3 p.m. are still on. Jefferson Community & Technical College is delaying opening to noon. Bellarmine University,Spalding Universityand IU Southeast  are closed.
