With enduring tensions between North and South Korea, the World Affairs Councils of America and the Korea Economic Institute will host a panel discussion Wednesday in Louisville on U.S.-Korea relations.The panelists will be:
- Troy Stangarone, senior director of congressional affairs and trade for the Korea Economic Institute of America
- Jongmin Kim, first secretary for economic affairs, for the Embassy of the Republic of Korea
- Donny Yoo, officer of Korean affairs for the U.S. State Department
The panel discussion will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Marriott Downtown Louisville, 280 W. Jefferson St. The cost is $15 for World Affairs Council members and $25 for non-members.WFPL's Jonathan Bastian talked with Stangarone about the situation between North and South Korea, and how the U.S. is approaching the matter."When you look at what's happened under Kim Jong-un, I think this has kind of caught a lot of people by surprise," he said.
