Kentucky, Walsh Construction Officials Hold Bridges Project Forum This Week

Louisville-area residents will have a chance to discuss construction and traffic issues this week with Kentucky officials and the contractor group hired to design and build the new downtown bridge as part of the Ohio River Bridges Project.
Walsh Construction has begun preliminary work for developing and building the new downtown I-65 bridge and reworking Spaghetti Junction. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Chuck Wolfe says residents can discuss that work and related issues this Wednesday. “The construction is really going to ramp up starting about the first of July and that’s when it’s going to have an effect on traffic," he says. The public forum will include scheduled presentations focusing on construction that will occur throughout the year. The bridge is expected to be completed in April 2016 and will be partially paid for with tolls, which have yet to be set. From kyinbridges.com:

Overview presentations will be at 5 p.m. and again at 6:15 p.m.  Free parking is available on both the north and south sides of Mellwood Avenue.

The forum will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Mellwood Arts Center, 1860 Mellwood Ave.
