A memorial for J. Blaine Hudson — the longtime Louisville educator and activist who died Saturday — is being planned for Monday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.The event, open to the general public, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Brown & Williamson Club, on the third floor of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, 2800 S. Floyd St. The memorial will also be streamed on the University of Louisville website.Hudson, who was 63, served as dean of U of L's College of Arts & Sciences from 2004 to this past December, who the university announced he'd leave the post and return to the faculty in 2014. A Louisville native, Hudson was for decades an educator and leading voice for Louisville's African-American community.Earlier this week, WFPL aired clips from Hudson'smany past appearances.
