A deli, a bourbon bar and an ice cream shop are opening soon on the corner of Third and Main streets, says developer Al J. Schneider Co.They'll be called, respectively, 21deli, Down One Bourbon Bar and 2 Dips & a Shake. Here's the descriptions of each, in Al J. Schneider Co.'s own words: Down One Bourbon Bar is a rustic, yet comfortable joint with more than 100 bourbons and food from 321deli. Located in the heart of Louisville’s entertainment district, Down One Bourbon Bar is a great option after work, before events at the KFC YUM! Center, or for those looking for an authentic Kentucky Bourbon experience. In addition to its world-class Bourbon collection, Down One Bourbon Bar will feature local craft beer, specialty cocktails and distinctive wines by the glass. 321deli offers the look and feel of a New York deli with the charm of the South. The deli will offer sandwiches, salads and sides to go, and will provide great food for Down One Bourbon Bar. Options include country ham from Kuttawa, Kentucky, triple crème cheese from Normandy, or smoked turkey from Tennessee. 321deli will provide unique and quality products, quick and reliable service, and reasonable prices. 2 Dips & a Shake will offer ice cream from The Comfy Cow, a Louisville company that specializes in handcrafted ice cream and desserts. 2 Dips & a Shake will craft twists, shakes and floats with ice cream from The Comfy Cow.The shops will employ about 30 people and be led by Christian Hattemer, who was executive chef of Columbus, Ohio's Milestone229.
