Kentucky State Rep. Reggie Meeks, D-Louisville, has been laid off from his job as director of outreach at the University of Louisville due to budget cuts.Meeks revealed his job status during an interview with Ryan Alessi of CN/2, in which he criticized rising tuition at the state's public universities. WFPL previously reported that U of L expected up to 20 employee layoffs in various departments, which was subject to decisions made by deans or department leaders.The University of Kentucky has laid off and eliminated more than 300 positions due to budget cuts. Other state public universities don't expect to take such drastic measures.
