Students at the University of Louisville held a walkout and rally today to protest circumstances surrounding the shooting of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin. The U of L walkout was one of several Martin-related protests scheduled nationwide Monday.Several students and activists spoke out against the incident and addressed issues of race that have tinted the issue. Among the speakers was Stacy Brooks, an adjunct U of L professor and a substitute teacher in Jefferson County.“I like that all people and races were out there,” said Brooks. “This [rally] has really brought home that there is unequal justice."Brooks told the crowd of over 100 students and activists who attended the rally that as a father of four he worries about how young black men are perceived in American society. The video was produced by local documentary filmmaker Stephon Barbour.
