The Cordish Company has announced a new business being called the anchor to Fourth Street Live when it opens later this year.Tavern on Fourth will include a restaurant offering craft beers and gourmet food as well as billiards and regulation bocce ball courts. The venue is meant to appeal to a professional crowd, according to a press release sent by city officials.“It also will transform the long-vacant second floor of the Kaufmann Strauss building into an energetic entertainment space for Louisville residents and visitors to enjoy," said Mayor Greg Fischer in the release.The 20,000 square foot Tavern on Fourth will be located on top of the Sports and Social Club, and will be open seven days a week and offer various entertainment shows.The venue will be managed by East Coast Saloons, which owns Maker’s Mark Bourbon Lounge and Sully’s.The venue is expected to create 60 construction jobs and 80 permanent jobs when it opens later this year.
