The Education of Billy Collins

April is National Poetry Month and former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins is coming to Louisville. He'll be onstage with Garrison Keillor at the Kentucky Author Forum at the Kentucky Center. (WFPL is one of the sponsors of the event.) In addition to writing poetry, Collins teaches poetry at Lehman College in New York and in workshops around the country. He says the learning in his classroom goes both ways, but would-be poets find out quickly that when it comes to the form and craft of poetry, Billy Collins is old school.
