The Kentucky Senate has approved a measure that would allow registered independents to vote in party primary elections.The bill gives independents until December 31st to choose which party’s primary they want to vote in the following May. If passed, the 2012 primaries would be the first affected.The bill now goes to the House, where similar legislation failed to gain traction last year.
