By Sheila AshThe University of Louisville and other institutions are offering workshops Sundayto help prospective and current college students fill out the on-line Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA.Mike Abboud with U of L’s Financial Aid Office says this is a national event, with nearly two dozen sites across Kentucky. "It’s not a recruiting event to say hey come to our university. It’s an opportunity to say if you need assistance filing the FAFSA regardless of what school you want to go to come to one of these 21 sites and we will ensure that a professional staff member is helping you make sure that form is filled out correctly and in a timely manner," he said. Abboud says anyone planning to go to college this fall can attend. He also says people need to bring their 2009 tax returns or any 2010 income and benefits information. The free event will be in Bigelow Hall on U of L’s Belknap campus from 2 to 4 pm.Similar programs will be offered at Ballard High School and Jefferson Community and Technical College’s southwest campus.
