The WHAS Crusade for Children has given nearly half a million dollars from this year's fundraising to the University of Louisville.U of L was given money for various medical and academic programs that benefit children, from the school of dentistry to the Weisskopf Child Evaluation Center. The Crusade raised over 5 million dollars this year. President Dawn Lee says U of L's fund requests were chosen from among dozens of applications."Usually we're able to only fund less than half of the requests that we get, so it's a very difficult process to go through and make the determination of where the funds go. It's really trying to determine where the impact is going to be the greatest and where the need is the most."Lee says various school programs and hospitals in Kentucky and southern Indiana and other universities will also receive funds from this year's Crusade.
