by Stephanie CrosbyThe two winners of early Triple Crown races won’t be in the field, but the 142nd running of the Belmont Stakes is tomorrow. Derby winner Super Saver and Preakness victor Lookin’ at Lucky opted out of the third Triple Crown race.Churchill Downs spokesperson and racing aficionado John Asher says even without those two horses, it’s a captivating race.“There are a lot of horses with possibilities," says Asher. "Not just for this race, which is run at an unusual distance, a mile-and-a-half is kind of an anachronism in U.S. racing, you just don’t see that run very often, it often makes for a race that is run in an unusual fashion, maybe not how you expected it to be.”Of the twelve horses in the field, the early favorite is Ice Box, the Nick Zito-trained Kentucky Derby runner-up. The race is set for tomorrow evening at Belmont Park in New York.Asher says they’ll have betting on the race available at Churchill Downs.
