by Stephanie CrosbyLaw enforcement officials are expecting a high volume river traffic for Thunder Over Louisville this weekend.Lt. Tony Cobaugh is the River Unit Commander for LMPD. He says because of favorable conditions in the Saturday forecast, they’re expecting about 300 boats on the river for the annual fireworks and air show.He says boaters should keep in mind the laws about alcohol are the same for boaters as they are for motorists.“Due to the public space that you’re on, the public waterway is the same as a roadway," says Cobaugh, "you’re not to consume alcohol in that public venue on the water, on the river.”Cobaugh says LMPD will have three patrol boats on the river for Thunder, and they’ll be joined by the Coast Guard, a number of fire departments and the sheriff’s office.
