Metro Parks Seeks Input For Petersburg Park Master Plan

by Gabe BullardThe public will get a chance Monday to weigh in on a potential master plan for Petersburg Park in Newburg.Public input on issues with the park and ideas for its future will be sought as Parks officials prepare a master plan.Senior Planner Lisa Hite says there's no timeline for implementing any changes at Petersburg Park, but a master plan can streamline development."It gives us a way to go to foundations or businesses in the community and say, 'Here is the community's vision for this park. Can you help fund some of it?'" she says.Once a draft of the plan is complete, officials will present it to the public at a meeting later this year. After that, a plan will be finalized. The meeting begins at 6 at Newburg Middle School.
