Thousands of area Toyota drivers are expected to make appointments with technicians to fix potentially defective accelerators on some models. To repair a flaw that caused some accelerators to stick, Toyota has sent new parts to technicians across the country and notices to drivers who need to have their vehicles fixed. At Swope Toyota in Elizabethtown, President Carl Swope is expecting to be swamped with maintenance appointments in the coming weeks."We will do this in the most convenient manner for our customers, and yes, I believe early on we will be doing this around the clock so that we can get as many of them done as quickly as possible," he says.Toyota will cover the cost of the repairs, but Swope says he will have to cover the cost of paying technicians for the extra time needed to repair the flaws.
