A three-day Festival of Young Preachers is underway in Louisville. It’s the first year for the festival, which is run by the Lexington-based Academy of Preachers. Founder and Executive Director Dwight Moody is himself a Baptist preacher and says the festival fills a gap for young preachers.“In these sessions, they are engaging one another," says Moody, "not only in style and not only in a complimentary way. They’re challenging one another, they are critiquing one another.”Moody says the festival is open to all Christian denominations, and this year includes nearly 100 young preachers, ranging in age from 15 to 29.He says the festival is a pilot program, but they’re already planning another preaching festival in Louisville next year.
