When the Kentucky Board of Education meets later this week in Frankfort, uniform course codes will be among the items on the agenda.Spokesperson Lisa Gross says it’s an effort to make sure students can transfer between schools and have a consistent level of classwork.“We’re talking about content," says Gross. "We’re talking about standards. What do we expect kids to know once they’ve completed algebra one? Once they’ve completed English? Once they’ve completed any kind of core subject like that.”She says the state is not out to mandate textbooks or teaching methods.Gross says the board will also discuss facility needs throughout the state and the interim school assessment program. The panel meets Wednesday and Thursday.
