The Louisville Urban League's annual report luncheon was held Friday.Chapter President Ben Richmond says the league's annual review found successes and shortcomings in its social programs during 2009."We were very successful at servicing people with foreclosure—we had a lot of energy around that. If you say we missed a mark, I'd like to we could've gotten more people employed," he says.Richmond says about 150 area families were saved from foreclosure with the league's help.Next year, Richmond says the league will work on improving graduation rates and college attendance as well as increasing access to quality healthcare."We have to look at the whole health disparities and look to see what role do we as an Urban League play there—collaborating and partnering with existing organizations whose primary focus is health," he says.
