To lure visitors downtown this summer, the Louisville Downtown Management District is sponsoring a series of free events.LDMD spokesperson Kate Eckert says the goal is to attract tourists and residents who are on a budget."There will be an LDMD free sponsored lunchtime event at least once a month but a couple of the months there will be two," says Eckert. "We have everything from free concerts to a carnival."Most of the events will be in or around 4th Street Live.The series will cost the district nine thousand dollars. The events began this month and continue through September.
