The man who has dedicated two decades to studying statistics in Kentucky is leaving his position in government. Ron Crouch is stepping down from his position as Director of the Kentucky State Data Center at the end of this month. The center at the University of Louisville is a joint effort between state and federal government. He says it’s time to get out before funding is cut.“I’m not sure with the current budget situation what’s going to happen," says Crouch. "I would hope the State Data Center remains viable but I do have my concerns in the current economic situation.”Crouch says he’ll continue studying Kentucky statistics, but will likely start charging a consulting fee and mileage and presentation fee for the more than 120 speaking engagements he has each year.
