More than one-hundred Brown-Forman employees in Louisville are being laid-off or are taking early retirement, as the company makes cuts to its budget. The Louisville-based spirits and wine producer is eliminating 250 jobs worldwide. Vice-President Phil Lynch says the job cuts are in almost every level of the company.“Here in Louisville, there are 57 jobs that are affected by the layoffs," says Lynch, "they’re all salary positions, but they range from executive to staff support to administrative assistance.”Lynch says the company’s new fiscal year starts May first, and officials believe the cuts will put Brown-Foreman on a successful path for the upcoming year, despite the recession.
