The Louisville Metro Police Department is using the last of a 450 million dollar federal grant to run an ad campaign that targets meth labs.Television and bus ads will show citizens common items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. If citizens see the items, which include hollowed-out lithium batteries or punctured starter fluid cans, they are encouraged to call the police.Sergeant Stan Salyards says meth manufacturers are drawn to Jefferson County because of the abundance of drug stores that stock the cold medicines used in making the drug."Not only are people in Louisville Metro coming here to buy their sudafedren, we have people from all over the state and also Indiana coming in to buy their sudafedren," he says.There have been 24 meth lab busts in the county this year. There were 93 total busts last year.
