Donations to the Salvation’s holiday Red Kettle campaign are on track to be higher this year than last, but the organization probably won’t meet its goal of a half-million dollars.Major Keath Biggers says through Christmas Eve, bell-ringers had collected about $57,000 more than during the previous year’s campaign."It all goes back to how giving Kentuckiana is and the Louisville community is in reaching down deep when the need is even greater and even their pockets are not as full, as they were at this point last year, giving sacrificially," says Biggers. With a week’s-worth of collection still to be tallied, Biggers says they’ve totaled about $381,000 this year. The goal was $500,000.
