The University of Louisville will stage a mock emergency on its Belknap campus tomorrow. The drill will start at 9:00 AM with a call to the school’s public safety department announcing a hazardous materials leak in the research building. The type of leak, number of victims and other details will be disclosed during the drill to test emergency crews. While the drill is meant for responders only, U of L spokesperson Cindy Hess says students and the public will be provided updates on the situation.“At that time we’re also going to test the U of L alert system," she says. "That activates cell phone text messages, a message on our web site and a number of other mechanisms.”Hess says all of the emergency messages will clearly be marked as tests. Tomorrow is the last day of U of L’s fall break, so classes will not be in session.
