The founder of the Idea Festival, which begins Thursday in Louisville, says he wants to use the event to help improve Kentucky. This year, the festival was preceded by Idea Kentucky, which addressed specific issues within the state. Founder Kris Kimel says he wants everyone at Idea Kentucky to keep those issues in mind the rest of the week.“I think a lot of people will be staying for the Idea Festival, which we’re encouraging them to do, so they can take some of the discussion and some of the ideas that are presented here and then as they go to the festival, hopefully expand some of those things as they hear many of the talks from the festival," says Kimel. The Idea Kentucky participants will meet again in November at the Long Term Policy Research Center’s annual gathering.
