A task force created to look into ways the state can assist underperforming schools will report this week to the Kentucky Board of Education. The board meets in regular session Wednesday and Thursday.Spokesperson Lisa Gross says the group has been looking into how other states have come to the aid of struggling schools."The whole purpose of this group was to kind of corral all that together and get it in one place, and use this as a resource so when we’re trying to figure out the best way to use the limited resources schools have, we’ll kind of have a guide book for that," says Gross. The board will also elect a new chair and vice-chair to serve one-year terms and conduct its annual review of the education commissioner.
