High gas prices may have an effect on this year’s annual Street Rod Nationals in Louisville. The event is sponsored by the National Street Rod Association and typically draws about 30 thousand participants from around the world. But Kentucky-based street rodder Ron Goben says high gas prices are keeping casual participants out of the event this year.“I think we might see a little bit of difference this year because it’s a rough economy this year, but generally speaking people who are in this plan for it and we spend years building a little at a time to get our vehicles and we make sure we can get where we want to go," says Goben. This is the event’s fourteenth year in Louisville. The association has agreed to meet here through 2020.
