Louisvillians will get a chance to see the latest design plans for the proposed new downtown Ohio River bridge this evening. A mockup will be available for viewing starting at 6pm at the Frazier History Museum.Project spokesperson Bob Lauder says response at a Tuesday open house in Jeffersonville was positive. He says designers have been able to keep costs in check.“The aesthetics don’t have a whole lot to do with the price tag on the bridges. In the estimates there are efforts underway all the time to figure out ways to make the bridges more affordable," he says. The designs still need final approval, but Lauder doesn’t think there will be any drastic changes to the plans.Kentucky lawmakers are still trying to come up with a funding mechanism to pay for the state’s share of the entire Ohio River Bridges Project, which also includes an east end bridge and the reconfiguration of Spaghetti Junction.
