Drawing To A Close

Hello from the mud.  This what the "road" to my campsite looks like.  Scary.  But we've worked hard to make it so rutty!  Last night was amazing.  I missed Wilco since I saw them here 2 years ago.  Instead I did some of Gov't Mule (they played a lot of covers that had the crowd dancing) then met up with some friends and watched Elvis Costello.  Next we checked out a bit of Mars Volta on the way to get in position to see the big show: Bruce Springsteen.  The man looks and sounds great though he's nearing 60; he still brings lots of energy to his shows.  His band was tight as a tick.  Max Weinburg started the night on drums and his son Jay took over for the encore.

Next up was Nine Inch Nails.  They were totally in the groove.  After about half their set we walked over and saw Ben Harper & Relentless 7.  Ben seemed rather low key to me.  This actually was a nice contrast to NIN and MGMT going on at the same time.  After Ben I stepped away for a bit and checked out some of MGMT and they too were bringing it with tons of energy.  Then it was time for Moe.  Wow.  They were still rocking at 4am when I reluctantly turned in.

I'm faced with a problem at this point:  a big storm is on the way.  Tons of great shows are on tap for today that I want to see.  What to do?  I'm packed up and I want to get my car out of the campground so I don't get stuck here.  Assuming I do get out I'm going to try to park at a Hotel up the road and walk back in with just my camera to keep my load light.  Wish me luck... I'm gonna need it!
