While checking the classical music news today, I found two very different strategies in introducing the music we love to the youth of today. In Boston, a 25-year-old conductor is leading free concerts for school children. In Great Britain a school headmaster in Spondon, Derby, hasa slightly different approach. Students who misbehave must sit in detention for 2 hours and listen to the music of Bach, Verdi, Brahms, etc. One student said of the punishment, "Last year was a nightmare. Mr Walker's music is a real killer."
