WFPL and WEKU have entered into a new partnership to expand State of Affairs® across Eastern Kentucky. WFPL's signature call-in program is now available to listeners in over 60 counties in Central and Eastern Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
With the launch of the new partnership, WFPL and WEKU began working on ways to improve the show, with a more broad range of topics important to Kentuckians. Show producers are also working on new ways to interact with the expanded audience.
One month in and the feedback is positive. Keith Neisler, WEKU Assistant General Manager and Program Director, said, “Our audience has embraced this program: I hear calls from our listeners on a regular basis. I am excited about the direction State of Affairs® is taking as it becomes a program that covers the Commonwealth.”
Todd Mundt, Louisville Public Media Vice President and WFPL Program Director, said, "Over time, this collaboration will mean more resources and staff to make the program stronger. And we're excited to have a model that still allows the show to focus on local issues, when that's called for."
WFPL’s award-winning call-in program, State of Affairs®, takes listener calls and comments each weekday at 814-TALK or 1-877-814-TALK or email soa@wfpl.org at 1pm (rebroadcast at 9pm).
