Louisville's Zombie Attack Is Tonight. Here's How to Be a Better Zombie.

Tonight, for the tenth consecutive year, a thousands-strong zombie horde will lurch onto Bardstown Road for the Louisville Zombie Attack.Last year,  an estimated 22,500 people dressed as the undead and took to the Highlands for the fun of it in what's become an annual Louisville spectacle. The Zombie Attack has burgeoned—as zombie attacks are wont to do—since its first incarnation in 2005, when 89 friends dressed as zombies to celebrate some birthdays. So maybe you're thinking about participating—but you're not quite sure how. Zombie Attack co-organizer Lyndi Lou and Louisville make-up artist Izzie Jones showed us some tips on how Louisvillians can properly gorify themselves. Some items you may need: corn syrup, red food coloring, a marshmallow, asparagus and a candlestick. (Yes, those items.)In addition to make-up, the zombie attack's undead often dress in costume. Here are photos from last year.If you need inspiration, Lyndi last yearsuggested some of her favorite movies featuring the undead.—Joseph LordWFPL's Alix Mattingly put together this video to show the proper ways to apply make-up. Watch Lyndi and Izzie zombify WFPL's Devin Katayama and Jacob Ryan:The Louisville Zombie Attack begins at 8:29 p.m. Friday night.
