The Louisville Metro Police Department is again participating in the "National Night Out" campaign.All eight LMPD divisions will have various activities and provide crime prevention tips Tuesday evening, generally from 5:00-8:00.National Night Out, now in its 27th year, is a partnership involving citizens, neighborhood organizations and police to encourage participation in anti-crime programs and drug prevention awareness.Some LMPD divisons will have food, school supplies, prizes and free disposal of old prescription drugs.
Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
