By Rick HowlettLouisville Metro Police Chief Robert White is a finalist for the chief's job in Atlanta, according to that city's mayor's office.A press release issued Tuesday says White is one of three finalists for the post. All three will be introduced at a town hall meeting next week.The two other finalists are Atlanta Interim Police Chief George Turner and Dr. Cedric Alexander of the Transportation Security Administration, who leads federal security oversight at the Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport.White is the first chief of the new Metro Police Department created by merger in 2003. He says he's happy in Louisville, but his job status is uncertain since current Mayor Jerry Abramson is not seeking re-election and the new mayor could choose to replace him.He was among six finalists for the chief's job in Dallas, but officials chose another candidate last month.
