by Gabe BullardThe University of Louisville will kick off a series of political forums Tuesday evening. The school's "You of L Votes" series currently consists of two forums. The first is a meeting of at least ten candidates for mayor of Louisville. It will be held Tuesday evening and will focus on sustainability and economic development. While the event will be held on campus, spokesperson and forum host Mark Hebert says members of the public will likely outnumber students in the audience."I think sustainability and economic development are very broad issues that affect not just the students who are interested in hearing about these topics from the mayoral candidates, but also the public at large," he says. The next event in the series will be a forum on Thursday with several Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate.Hebert says the university hopes to host additional forums soon.
