Ahead of congressional hearings into the recent Toyota recalls, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear is rallying the governors of states that have Toyota plants.Beshear and governors in Alabama, Indiana, and Mississippi have written a letter to congressional leaders urging them to look at the context surrounding Toyota’s troubles.“There were sixteen million vehicles recalled last year, and not one of those recalls created the frenzy, the feeding frenzy, that’s going on right now,” Beshear said Thursday during an interview with MSNBC.The governor says Toyota has gone above and beyond other manufacturers during the recall by choosing to shut down production until repairs are complete.Kentucky’s Toyota plant is in Georgetown.
