University of Kentucky starting quarterback Mike Hartline will miss several weeks of play and possibly the rest of the season after tearing a knee ligament during Saturday's loss at South Carolina.
Coach Rich Brooks says the injury won't require surgery, but Hartline, a junior, will have to let the injury heal on its own before he can return to the field."If he can't then they would remove the cartilage, which would be another two to three week proposition. So possibly he could play before the end of the season, possibly not," Brooks said Monday.Brooks says junior Will Fidler and freshman Morgan Newton will compete for the starting quarterback job this week.
