Jamila Woods had a strong 2016 thanks in part to her debut album, Heavn, and collaborations with fellow Chicago artists like Chance The Rapper. Heavn will get a re-release this summer now that she's signed with Jagjaguwar, and the collection will now include the new single "Holy." Woods spoke with Kyle Meredith about her soul background, falling in love with poetry, and giving back to the community that's given her so much.
