Kevin Morby has been on a writing kick lately, with his 4th release in 5 years on the way. City Music is his own answer to his last LP, Singing Saw, that caught him in a biographical mood concerning his move to Los Angeles. This new record, as he tells Kyle Meredith, is the opposite of all of that. Set in New York, it has themes of isolation and even finds him playing the part of an reclusive elderly woman, as well as pays a bit of tribute to Ramones and Jim Carroll.
