A great blend of pop and country with a Broadway flair. now, those descriptions could scare you away, making you think of something like Taylor Swift, but i assure you it's as far from that side of the spectrum that you could get. Heck, you're going to get a kazoo solo in the middle and it all comes from a gal named April Smith and the Great Picture Show. The Jersey girl has a new CD called Songs for a Sinking Ship that's due out Feb. 23rd and you'll be able to catch her on tour with Langhorne Slim currently. For me, the trick to "getting" this song was seeing her pull this off live in a studio. There are sooooo many things going on here that it is beyond impressive. You can file her in the same category as St. Vincent in artists that are pushing the whole daggone thing forward.
