Alejandro Escovedo made a surprise appearance at Bruce Springsteen’s Houston concert last night. They sang Alejandro’s new single, "Always A Friend" from the upcoming CD Real Animal due out this June! This was the first time Escovedo has jammed with the Boss. It makes perfect sense, however, because Escovedo is now managed by Jon Landau and Barbara Carr who have handled Springsteen since “Born To Run.”
The announcement signals the start of a busy season for Escovedo, whose recovery from life-threatening hepatitis C has been remarkable. He'll be the subject of a live concert film, to be shot in the back of Las Manitas in Austin in May, by Oscar-winning director Jonathan Demme. And he'll tour in conjunction with the new release.
